Eight months have passed since I moved in here from Osaka in Japan. I live in Shanghai in China now. I had been surprised at the difference of the culture of China and Japan. I still have it sometimes … hmm…… a lot naturally, but mostly I feel comfortable in my life in China. I think it caused from warm personality of Chinese people.
I have a blackberry shrub. When I bought it at the flower shop two years ago, it already had many flowers and berries on it. Last year, it didn’t bear any flowers or berries. And then this year, it bore some flowers. Those flowers are changing to berries now. This makes my family and me happy.
When I traveled in Seattle with my family twelve years ago, from my car, I saw a middle-aged lady who was doing something at the side of the road. We stopped the car and asked her what she was doing. she was picking wild blackberries. We were so exited and picked them and ate a lot. It was very satisfying. Since then, when asked, my daughter says her favorite food is blackberries.

葉の香りとともにベランダを明るく彩ってくれています。
私は子供の頃お祭りのお囃子をしていました。楽譜もなく言葉の言い回しで代々伝えられていく音楽。笛、太鼓、大胴など感覚で合わせていくのですが、ぴったり合った時の演奏はどんなに吹いても息が続くような、すべてが解け合った素敵な感覚でした。笛太鼓を通して自分を表現する事がとても好きでした。
進学の際、ピアノを専攻しました。そして日本歌曲に出会います。詩集を読んだ時に心にこみ上げてくるもの、それがそのまま曲になっていたのです。今まで知っていた歌でもその伴奏が持つイメージを改めて認識しました。日本歌曲の伴奏には、詩の行間がそのまま伴奏になっていると感じるものが多く、気持ちがそのまま音楽になったことは、祭り囃子を演奏する事に似ていました。これは日本人だからこそ感じ取れるもの。そんな演奏がしたい思いました。子育てや度重なる転勤で得た貴重な経験を生かした今の自分の道を見つけたいと思っています。
Today, I took my daughter to English class. She did very well and surprised my English teacher with her ability.
